Notes

Brit & Skillet Tip: For the most authentic British pub experience, choose a good mature English Cheddar, thick crusty farmhouse bread, and Branston Pickle. In America, extra-sharp Cheddar and a tangy vegetable chutney make excellent alternatives.
Variations: Add cooked ham or a hard-boiled egg for a heartier lunch. Stilton or Red Leicester can also be served alongside Cheddar.
Make Ahead: Prepare the cheese and vegetables in advance and refrigerate separately. Slice the apple and assemble shortly before serving. Keep perishable ingredients chilled until needed.
Serving Suggestion: Arrange everything on a rustic wooden board for a traditional English country-pub presentation.
